Ian Toynton (born 1946) is a British television director, producer and editor. His most notable work has been on ''The O.C.'', on which he served as director, supervising producer and co-executive producer for a number of episodes. He has both directed and produced episodes of the series ''Bones'', ''The Pretender'', ''Minder'' and ''Red Fox''. In 2003, he was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for the ''24'' episode "Day 2: 10:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.". Some of his other directorial work includes ''Crossing Jordan'', ''Nowhere Man'', ''The Chinese Detective'', ''Piece of Cake'' and ''Providence''. He has also worked in editing, mostly in sound editing and dubbing, for shows such as ''Quatermass'', ''Van der Valk'', ''The Sweeney'' and ''Sweeney 2''. His only writing credit is an episode of ''Relic Hunter'', for which he has also directed ten episodes.
